The 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a part of the legendary SUV's second generation that began in 1990 and continues to this day. It is available with three engine options: a 416-hp V8 (G550), a 563-hp V8 (AMG G63), or a whopping 621-hp V12 (AMG G65), all coupled with a seven-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4WD. The diesel version (G350d) is not available in the U.S. The G-Class features old-school body-on-frame construction, lending it serious off-road credibility, but comes wrapped in luxury, with leather upholstery, wood trim, and the latest tech—including a COMAND® infotainment system and a Harman Kardon® or Bang & Olufsen® sound system. Safety features include a rearview camera, blind-spot assist, and adaptive cruise control. Note that the G-Class did not receive significant changes in the 2016 model year.
