The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander is a part of the third-generation SUV known for its value-oriented approach in a competitive market. It comes in four trims: ES, SE, SEL and GT. The Outlander comes standard with FWD, but offers AWD in all trims except the base ES. The standard powertrain is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 166 horsepower, mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The GT model, however, boasts a 3.0-liter V6 that churns out 224 horsepower, paired to a six-speed automatic. Inside, the Outlander features a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with higher trims offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. One of the key changes for 2016 is a redesign including more than 100 improvements, focusing on materials quality, handling, and noise isolation. Safety features include a standard backup camera and available forward collision warning with brake assist.
