The 2016 Subaru Impreza represents the fifth generation of the popular compact vehicle. It comes as both a 4-door sedan and a 5-door hatchback. Subaru offers two trims, the base 2.0i and the more luxurious 2.0i Premium. Power comes from a 148-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder 'boxer' engine, mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). As with all Subarus, the Impreza benefits from standard all-wheel drive. Infotainment options include a 6.2-inch or 7-inch touchscreen with Subaru's Starlink system, featuring integration with Aha radio and Pandora, plus available navigation. Safety features like a rearview camera are standard, while advanced features like blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are available. The model didn't receive any significant changes for 2016.
