The 2016 Toyota 4Runner is a part of the SUV's fifth generation, known for its rugged body-on-frame construction and capability off-road. This midsize SUV comes with a stalwart 4.0L V6 engine, delivering 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission. It is available with both RWD and 4WD. The 2016 4Runner offers four trims: SR5, Trail, Limited, and TRD Pro. Key safety features include standard stability and traction control, anti-lock disc brakes, front knee airbags, and front seat side airbags. The vehicle's tech highlights include a touchscreen interface (6.1" on lower trims, 7" on higher), a back-up camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. However, a noticeable omission is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, not available in the 2016 model. For the 2016 model year, the 4Runner received a newly available TRD Pro trim level, featuring high-performance off-road suspension components.
