The 2017 BMW X5 belongs to the third generation of BMW's luxury mid-size SUV line. It was presented with four available trims: 35i, 35d, 40e and 50i. The 35i is powered by a 300-hp 3.0L turbocharged inline-six, while the 35d has a 255-hp 3.0L turbodiesel inline-six. The 40e is a plug-in hybrid version boasting an estimated 19 miles of pure electric range, and the 50i houses a hefty 445-hp 4.4L V8. All versions use an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW's xDrive AWD system. Noteworthy tech features include a standard 10.2-inch touchscreen display with navigation, BMW's iDrive infotainment system, and smartphone integration.
