The 2017 Jeep Patriot is a compact crossover SUV from Jeep's lineup. It was one of the least expensive SUVs on the market at its time and it is Jeep's entry-level model. The 2017 year model sees no significant changes since the vehicle was in its final model year. Available in two main trims: Sport and Latitude, the Patriot comes with two engine options. The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 158 horsepower, while the optional engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder generating 172 horsepower. Both engines are paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic, with the exception of the Freedom Drive II off-road package, which has a CVT. While not as off-road capable as other Jeeps, the Patriot has its merits in its simple design and affordability.
