The 2017 Kia Soul EV, part of the first-generation Soul series, is a front-wheel-drive, all-electric subcompact SUV. Its motor produces 109 horsepower and is coupled with a single-speed direct-drive transmission. Additionally, it is equipped with a 27 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that provides an EPA-estimated range of 93 miles. The Soul EV comes in two trims, the base and 'Plus', which both feature a 8-inch touchscreen, UVO infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with standard safety features like a rearview camera and parking sensors. Notable changes for 2017 included the addition of a new, entry-level 'e' trim, though it was only made available in certain states.
