The 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a luxury SUV that blends historical charm with modern sophistication and performance. While all models exhibit remarkable off-road capability, the range-topper is the G 65, with its 6.0-liter V12 engine churning out 621 hp. Even the base G 550's 4.0-liter V8 engine delivers a solid 416 hp. These engines are paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to all four wheels. Three main trims were available, G 550, AMG G 63, and AMG G 65, each one known for its handcrafted interior, plush leather seats, premium infotainment system with an 8-inch display, and a host of advanced safety technologies like Blind Spot Assist and DISTRONIC PLUS. For 2017, Mercedes-Benz introduced the new G 550 4x4 Squared which, equipped with portal axles, offered ground clearance of over 17 inches.
