The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander is part of the vehicle's third generation. This well-equipped SUV is offered with two engine options: a 166-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder MIVEC engine and a 224-horsepower, 3.0-liter V6 MIVEC engine. It features a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for the 2.4-liter engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission for the V6, with an all-wheel-drive option available across all trims. Five trims are available: ES, SE, SEL, GT, and PHEV. Every Outlander comes standard with features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen, rearview camera, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker stereo. The Outlander is highly recognized for safety with features including Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Notable for 2017 is the addition of a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant to the lineup.
