The 2018 Acura ILX is a sporty entry-level luxury sedan. Part of the first generation that started in 2013, it is powered by a 201-horsepower 2.4-liter inline-four engine mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard across all ILX trims. Available trims include the base ILX, Special Edition, Premium and Technology Plus packages, and the sporty A-Spec – each adding a different mix of features. The car comes equipped with key safety features such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. Infotainment highlights include a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system, although an upgraded 7-inch touchscreen, a 10-speaker ELS sound system, and smartphone app integration are available in the higher trims. The model generally had no major changes for 2018, continuing to offer a mix of value and performance in its segment.
