The 2018 BMW 4 Series, part of the first generation that debuted in 2014, is a luxury sport compact offering in coupe, convertible, and Grand Coupe (four-door liftback) formats. It is available on three trims: 430i, 440i, and M4, each with different powertrains. All engines pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, but a 6-speed manual is an option for the two-door 430i, all 440i models, and the M4.
