The 2018 Buick Encore marks the fifth year into the first-generation of the subcompact crossover’s model run. It boasts a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that offers a standard horsepower of 138, with an option to upgrade up to 153. This engine pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available. The Encore comes in six trims namely: 1SV, Preferred, Sport Touring, Preferred II, Essence, and Premium. The Encore is packed with several key safety features including 10 airbags, StabiliTrak stability control system, and available forward-collision and lane-departure warnings. In terms of tech highlights, a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, Bluetooth, and OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity and a Wi-Fi hotspot are standard.
