The 2018 Buick LaCrosse is a second-generation luxury sedan that offers a delicate balance of comfort and performance. Available in four trims: base, Preferred, Essence, and Premium, each paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels; an all-wheel drive is optional on the Premium trim. The standard engine is a mild hybrid drivetrain, dubbed eAssist, a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor generating 194 horsepower. A potent 3.6-liter V6 producing 310 horsepower is optional. Interior refinements include an 8-inch touchscreen equipped with infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Key safety features include forward collision warning, lane keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring. For the 2018 model year, Buick has made the eAssist powertrain standard, offering more economical power output and added a new range-topping Avenir trim.
