The 2018 Chevrolet Cruze, part of the second and current generation introduced for 2016, comes as a compact sedan or a hatchback. Its car-like qualities combined with the functionality of a hatchback make it a standout choice. The Cruze offers a standard turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 153 horsepower, and a turbo diesel 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 137 horsepower. Both are paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. There are four available trims: L, LS, LT and Premier. Top of the line Premier includes a host of tech features, such as a 7-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet's Infotainment 3 Plus system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot capability. The Cruze also touts solid safety features, with options including a rearview camera, lane departure warning, and forward collision alert. For 2018, the Cruze gained a diesel engine option for the hatchback body style but saw no other significant changes.
