The 2018 Chevrolet Volt is part of the vehicle's second generation and comes in two available trims: LT and Premier. This front-wheel drive plug-in hybrid has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor, producing up to 149 horsepower. With the battery fully charged, it offers up to 53 miles of pure electric driving. After the battery is spent, the Volt becomes a traditional hybrid, with an overall driving range of about 420 miles. Premiere models feature an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an available advanced safety package with features such as forward collision alert, lane keep assist, and automatic high beams. Notable changes from the previous year include the introduction of an exterior temperature indicator and sliding sun visors.
