2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Overview

The 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross marks the resurrection of the Eclipse moniker, previously seen on Mitsubishi's iconic sports coupe. This time, however, it's a compact SUV. The Eclipse Cross offers a single powertrain—a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and available in both front and all-wheel drive. The engine produces 152 horsepower. The Eclipse Cross comes in four trims: ES, LE, SE, and SEL. Key safety features across the range include traction control, rear-view camera, and hill start assist, with higher-end models getting the likes of blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward collision mitigation. The infotainment system sports a 7” touchscreen display and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Despite being a latecomer in the compact SUV territory, the Eclipse Cross's striking looks and extensive features list help it to stand out.
