The 2019 Hyundai Kona is part of the SUV's first generation which debuted in 2018. The Kona offers a choice of two engines - a 147-hp 2.0L four-cylinder for SE and SEL trims and a 175-hp turbocharged 1.6L for Limited and Ultimate trims. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, but a seven-speed dual-clutch comes with the turbocharged engine. All-wheel drive is offered as an option. Inside, Hyundai packed the Kona with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, and a host of safety features including forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, and a driver attention monitor. For 2019, Hyundai equipped all Konas with standard automatic emergency braking, among other safety features.
