The 2020 BMW M5, part of the sixth generation introduced in 2018, is a power-packed luxury sports sedan that outperforms most competitors. It comes with a 4.4-liter V8 engine producing 600 horsepower in the base M5, and 617 horsepower in the Competition package. This power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system. Transmission modes can be modified to allow for traditional rear-wheel drive. Luxury amenities include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10.3-inch central display with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Safety features are aplenty, with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning as standard. Notable changes for 2020 include two new color options and a standard Live Cockpit Professional system.
