It houses a standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 185 horsepower, an optional 1.6-liter turbo-four with 178 horses, and a more powerful 2.0-liter turbo-four option churning out 245 horses. An automatic transmission handles shifting across all trims, while all four trims come with front-wheel drive. Major standard features cover an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system blooming with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, and USB ports. Upgrades offer a panoramic sunroof, satellite and HD radio, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, and navigation. Kia doesn't skimp on safety either, installing a backup camera, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane keeping assist as standard. Additionally, for 2020, Kia made adaptive cruise control a standard feature and revamped the Optima's styling. The SX trim received unique LED fog lights.
