After several years absent from the U.S. market, the Land Rover Defender returned in 2020, reimagined for the 21st century. This modern 4WD SUV boasts a choice of two engines, a 296-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged I4, and a 395-hp MHEV 3.0-liter I6. It is offered in five trims: Defender, Defender S, Defender SE, Defender HSE, and Defender X. Despite its modern look, it remains durable and rugged, with standard air suspension for off-road capability and a Terrain Response system for tackling a variety of surfaces. Inside, the Defender is meticulously appointed with a 10-inch touchscreen equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and optional 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display. Safety includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and a 360-degree camera, among others.
