The 2020 Mercedes-Benz A-Class, part of the vehicle's fourth generation started in 2018, is a luxury subcompact sedan known for its high-tech appeal. It comes in two trims: A220 sedan and AMG A35. The A220 sports a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 188 horsepower and is coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The AMG A35, engineered for true performance enthusiasts, is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine, pushing out 302 horsepower. Both trims offer standard FWD, with 4MATIC AWD as an option. Key safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a driver attention monitor, and the brand's Pre-Safe system that prepares the vehicle for an impending collision. Tech-wise, it boasts the new Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, featuring a standard two 7-inch screens (or optional 10.25-inch pair) one for the driver's instruments and one for the infotainment platform. It also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Key changes for 2020 include a standard blind-spot warning system and the AMG A35 model's introduction.
