The 2020 Volvo XC90 is a luxury midsize SUV known for its opulent interior and robust safety features. This model year introduces a six-seat configuration in addition to four, five, and seven-seat options. Three engine variants are available: the base T5, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder generating 250 horsepower; the midrange T6 utilizing a supercharger for a total of 316 horsepower; and the range-topping T8, a plug-in hybrid with an impressive 400 horsepower. All engines come paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and offer optional AWD (standard on T6 and T8). Safety features are generous and include Volvo’s City Safety system, which can detect pedestrians, cyclists, and large animals. The infotainment system offers a 9-inch touchscreen, navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Notably for 2020, all XC90 models received subtle exterior tweaks and an upgraded Bowers and Wilkins audio system.
