The 2023 BMW X5 is a midsize luxury SUV categorized under the brand's Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) lineup. While BMW has not yet specified its generation, it can still be considered as part of the fourth-generation models, G05 that debuted in 2019. Buyers have a choice between several high-powered engines - a turbocharged inline-six with 335-hp in the xDrive40i, a plug-in hybrid with 389-hp in xDrive45e, and V8s producing either 523-hp or a thundering 612-hp in the M50i and X5 M, respectively. All models feature an 8-speed automatic transmission and come with standard all-wheel drive. Notable safety features include standard BMW's Active Driving Assistant, featuring forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot detection. The infotainment system features a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation as standard features. The X5 remains a class leader with its combination of performance, luxury, and tech amenities.
