The 2024 BMW X1 marks the third generation of BMW's compact luxury crossover SUV. It offers three trim levels: the sDrive28i, the xDrive28i, and the plug-in hybrid variant xDrive25e. Both '28i' models are powered by a 228-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. The hybrid variant combines a 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine and an electrical motor with a combined system output of 217 horsepower. The sDrive28i is front-wheel-drive, while the xDrive28i and xDrive25e are all-wheel-drive, all paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Key safety features for this year include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Infotainment gets a major boost with the iDrive 7.0 system, BMW ConnectedDrive Services, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto support all centered around a 10.25" touchscreen. Notable for this model-year is the significant redesign giving the X1 a sportier look, taking cues from the larger BMW X3 and X5 models.
