Entering its seventh generation, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is set to be a highly luxurious grand tourer. This performance roadster can be configured with a choice of two engines: a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six producing 429 horsepower in the SL450, and a more powerful twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 delivering 496 horsepower in the SL550. Both engines pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, a first for the SL-Class. The interior features Mercedes' latest MBUX infotainment system with a 12.8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and high-end optional features such as a Burmester stereo system. A myriad of safety features include standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and more available through the optional Driver Assistance package. The refreshed exterior retains its sporty elegance while offering subtle nods to past SL models, with its forward-tilting front end and slim tail lights.
