The 2026 BMW M5 is an evolution of BMW's legendary high-performance sedan, now into its sixth generation. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine generating 600 horsepower in the standard M5 and 617 horsepower in the M5 Competition. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and feature BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which offers a rear-wheel-drive mode for the true enthusiasts. On the inside, the M5 offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and sumptuous luxury details such as Merino leather upholstery. As for safety, the M5 also includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automated emergency braking.
