The 2026 BMW X5 represents the fourth generation of this luxury midsize SUV. It's offered in four trim levels: sDrive40i, xDrive40i, xDrive50i and M50i. All models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, but while the sDrive40i model is rear-wheel drive (RWD), the other X5 variants feature BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system. Engine options range from a 335 hp turbocharged inline-6 in the sDrive40i and xDrive40i trims to a 523 hp V8 in the M50i. The X5 boasts high-tech features including a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and infotainment system, both of which offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a suite of safety features from lane departure warning to automatic emergency braking. Specific to the 2026 model are tweaks to the exterior design and the addition of options in the premium packages.
