The upcoming 2026 Nissan Frontier will be a part of the third-generation of this reliable pickup truck. As a mid-size truck, it will likely continue to provide engine options that deliver ample power and a smooth ride. In previous Frontier models, a 3.8-liter V6 delivered 310 horsepower, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission which could be expected to continue into 2026. The truck comes in 2WD or 4WD, and it offers different trims including the S, SV, PRO-4X, and PRO-X. The PRO-4X is designed for off-road, including Bilstein shocks and an electronic locking rear differential. Key safety features would include Nissan’s Safety Shield 360, which provides automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, and lane departure warning, among others. The infotainment system in the previous model years featured a standard 7-inch color display or an optional 9-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, expected to carry over into 2026.
