This Corvette was built as a gift to himself by a 40 year employee of GM when he retired. The original owner, Mr. McGinnis, retired as Production Manager of GMAD in Fairfax, KS and walked this car through production himself according to his wife. A special undercoating was applied and a special interior and exterior was included. The Paint Code indicates ''Special'' paint and according to GM, that means the vehicle left the assembly plant in red primer and silver bumpers. It was customary for the dealer or buyer to paint choice of color. For this reason, the color of this car is not offered as an option in 1976 but is considered by most to be original color chosen by Mr. McGinnis.
