This 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 was purchased in 2020 by off-road racer Tavo Vildosola, who commissioned a build totaling approximately $164k that included fitting a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 as well as a 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission along with a repaint in blue, a rear disc brake conversion, an overhaul of the interior, refinishing the chassis, and installation of carbon-fiber exterior and interior components in addition to 18" wheels and aftermarket suspension, lighting, audio, and engine-management components.
This right-hand-drive truck was imported to the US from the UK in November 2018. It is further equipped with ventilated front disc brakes, steel-braided brake lines, a Puma dashboard, rear jump seats, a MoTeC instrument cluster, a custom center console, a backup camera, a Borla exhaust system, and a custom rear bumper. The truck was repainted in blue with a black roof and was fitted with a custom rear bumper in addition to retractable side steps and a carbon-fiber front grille, headlight bezels, fender flares, and side trim.
A Baja Designs light bar is integrated into the front bumper, and additional details include LED lighting, a backup camera, replacement LED headlights, alpine windows, rear vent windows, and quad exhaust outlets with carbon-fiber finishers. The doors received replacement hinges and were resealed, and a windshield wiper kit was installed at the time of the build. Black-finished 18? Kahn wheels wear Toyo Open Country A/T tires, and a matching spare is mounted on the swing-out rear door.
Stopping power is provided by Wilwood calipers fed by steel-braided lines over slotted rotors at each corner. An replacement rear drag link, radius arm, front panhard arm, and shocks were installed, and the axles have been refinished. The right-hand-drive cabin was overhauled under current ownership and houses front bucket seats that were reupholstered in black leather that extends to the custom center console and door panels.
Quilted stitching accents the interior, and appointments include replacement carpeting and microsuede trim on the Puma dashboard. The RaceGrade keypad has been mounted below the Pioneer head unit, and the interior is further equipped with red seatbelts, inward-facing rear jump seats, Baja Designs interior lighting, aftermarket speakers, and a custom air conditioning system. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission & is equipped with Borla Exhaust.
