Meet our 1972 Chevrolet Blazer 4X4 featured in Orange! This 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer was acquired by the seller out of Washington. Work performed during the refurbishment included taking the body down to bare metal. The radio antenna hole was filled and the truck was repainted Viper Orange. Equipment includes a white removable hardtop with gas tailgate struts as well as a replacement grille, windshield, door glass, weather stripping, door seals, and chrome-finished bumpers. Imperfections are noted in the clear coat, and rock chips are present along the bottoms of the side panels. Rally-style 18 wheels wear 35×12.5 BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires. Equipment includes Off Road Design suspension components, Alcan leaf springs, heavy-duty spring shackles, Warn manually locking front wheel hubs, a RedHead steering gearbox, and an Off Road Design heavy-duty crossover steering and steering stabilizer. Recent work included rebuilding the front and rear axles with replacement bearings, seals, and gears. Braking is provided by vented discs all around. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in replacement black vinyl with plaid inserts as well as black door panel inserts and carpets. The floor is coated with bedliner, and equipment includes cruise control, Vintage Air air conditioning, a RetroSound Bluetooth stereo, and an aftermarket center console with integrated cup holders. The replacement two-spoke steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instruments consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 1,500 miles, which is said to be the distance covered since the completion of the build. True mileage is unknown. The replacement 5.3-liter Vortec V8 is equipped with an aluminum radiator, electric cooling fans, stainless steel exhaust headers, and a Holley in-tank fuel pump. Work performed included replacing the oil pump, wiring, fuses, engine sensors, and engine gaskets. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed 4L65E automatic transmission, a 4.11:1 limited-slip rear differential, and a dual-range NP241C transfer case that is equipped with a slip yoke eliminator kit. Maintenance carried during the refurbishment included coating the frame, suspension, and driveline components in epoxy satin black sealer, installing Tom Wood's Driveshaft universal joints, and replacing the transfer case seals. Many labor hours were spent on this build in addition to the costs of the parts and accessories that have been added throughout the build.
