Meet Vern, a 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter newly converted in 2024, named after a nostalgic Cerritos Auto Center commercial from the 80s. With just over 25,000 miles, Vern features a 2.0-liter, 188-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This engine provides 258 pound-feet of torque at 2,500 RPM and 188 horsepower at 5,000 RPM.
The interior of Vern is framed with 80/20 aluminum extrusion, ensuring the RV’s major structural systems are strong, lightweight, and built to withstand the elements. This conversion includes a six-foot galley with a bamboo countertop, hot and cold water for both an indoor “hidden” shower and an outdoor shower, an RV king-sized bed, a dining bench for two, and an easy-access rooftop deck perfect for enjoying sunsets by the lake.
The electrical system boasts a 400W solar panel, four 100 amp-hour lithium batteries, a 3000-watt Victron inverter powering both 120V and 12V outlets, shore power, and a touch-screen monitoring system accessible via WiFi worldwide. With ample electrical storage, Vern allows for weeks of off-grid living, ensuring all your electronics stay charged.
Additional features include passenger swivel seating, a 26” smart TV in the bedroom, an Isotherm Cruise 130 Elegance refrigerator, a smart-inverter convection microwave, MaxxAir Deluxe roof fan, Webasto Gas Heater, LED lighting throughout, bamboo slat ceiling, and plank flooring. The model is fully insulated and sound-proofed, with an exterior light bar and spotlights for parking assistance and entertainment.
The spacious garage storage at the rear can accommodate luggage and sporting gear and includes a 35-gallon fresh water tank. All electrical and plumbing components are designed for easy access, making repairs and upgrades straightforward.
