Seller's Notes

1956 Chevrolet 150 2-Door Sedan The three familiar series, Bel Air, Two-Ten and One-Fifty, were now offered in 19 models.  One was a new body style this year, the 4 door hardtop.  It was called the Sport Sedan and was advertised as Embodying the youthfulness of a convertible, the practicality of a hardtop and the convenience of a sedan.  Customers at the time were demanding bigger, brighter cars with more power and performance, and they got it with the new 1956 Chevrolet.  General Motors knew that if a car was to sell well it had to look new, even if it wasn't entirely.  Though 1956 was a transition year, the model did bring about a number of firsts. -Thx to Ecklers Chevrolet  For consignment, a 1956 Chevrolet 150 2 door sedan, a stunner inside and out in red and white, packing a 383ci stroker V8 under the hood and Boyd Coddington wheels on the corners.  Whether it's cruise nights, car shows, or simply serving as garage art, here's a Two-Ten that's bound to be a winner.  Couple the upgrades with the 653 miles showing on the odometer which are the clicks this Tri-5 has traveled since built, and we have a sure fire winner here in our Hallowed Halls.  Exterior Matador Red and India Ivory make pops like a peppermint candy on this sweet ride, bright, striking and quintessentially 1950's.  The side trim includes a hockey stick that turns to a point, encapsulating a spear of ivory that broadens into the rear quarter, over the trunk, and coating the roof, finally dripping down the pillars.  The big chrome bumper and bold grille are straight and mirror-like, as is the V-crest and jet inspired hood ornament.  There's lots of polished trim around the windows, all looking nice, and elaborate tail light treatments that are basically works of art mounted to the tail of the car.  45 series tires wrap around Boyd Coddington alloy wheels measuring 17-inch in the front and 18-inch in the back and fit the car wonderfully, adding a slightly modern dimension to the classic lines.  Panel gaps, metalwork and paint are in great shape.  Imperfections noted included checking in the ivory paint, some bubbling and other blemishes in the red, low on the body.  Interior The red and white goodness continues on the inside where V-patterned stitched red panels meet flat white panels on the door cards, showing some bumpy edges but otherwise clean and intact.  The V is recounted with white piping on red cloth inserts with white vinyl frames on the front bucket seats.  It's not easy to keep white perfect and the driver's seat shows some compression and slight discoloration.  In back, the color pattern is mirrored on the bench where the contrasting red and white pattern flows onto the package shelf, a nice little attention to detail.  The polished APC steering wheel sits on a tilt column which leads to a digital instrumentation embedded in the fan shaped dash.  A grooved metal trim piece spans the middle of the dash over the red painted lower and it all wraps around, taking the windshield with it with fantastic, curved glass.  A Lokar skull shifter knob tops the shaft which is floor mounted and surrounded by red loop carpet in good and slightly soiled condition.  Up top, the white headliner is in fine condition.  Drivetrain It's okay, you can pop the hood at shows because under is a clean, consignor stated 383ci of a stroker V8 fueled by a pair of 4-barrel carburetors.  Spinning the wheels will be a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels and 3.08 gears.  Power brakes are on board with discs in front and drums in the back.  Undercarriage Nice and clean underneath with no surface rust nor much in the way of grease and grime.  In fact, we only see some residual oil on the pan and the rest is dry!  Dual exhaust enters FlowMaster mufflers before turning to the sides to exit discreetly in front of the rear wheels.  Coil springs in front and leaf springs in rear make up the suspension.Â
