It has roomy ergonomics and the flat, wide seat—with not-too-soft-not-too-hard foam—meant you could spend hours aboard the KLR with only the occasional need for fuel demanding a stop. The combined freeway and backroad twisties of daily routes including a lot of throttle-to-the-stoop accelerating, and the KLR still manages to an impressive 41.7 mpg.
