The XJ-8 series Jaguar sedan is thought by many to be, along with the Series III XJ-6 of the 1970’s and 1980’s, one of the most handsome modern sedans offered by Jaguar. The elegant Vanden Plas version was offered as a long wheelbase, ultra-luxurious version of the XJ-8. Powered by a 4-litre, fuel-injected V-8 engine mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission, this car offers substantial and amazingly smooth power and is complemented by a great ride and superb elegance. Luxury equipment includes supple leather seats (available only on the Vanden Plas), polished burr walnut facia and cabin trim with matching rear compartment folding picnic tables, mouton carpet overlays, electric: sunroof, windows, seats (also heated and with memories), mirrors, locks and antenna, factory AM-FM stereo/CD system and special Vanden Plas-only factory alloy wheels. Safety equipment includes twin airbags, ABS anti-lock brakes, etc. Finished in Topaz Metallic with Barley supple leather, our car is a local 1-owner car, which has been obviously pampered since new, is in fabulous and all-original condition throughout and is amazingly nice to drive.
