A genuine, full matching-numbers example, this car retains its original chassis, engine, transmission, and all moving body panels—including the doors, hood, engine lid, and bumpers—all of which are stamped with numbers matching the chassis.(Look up pictures at the fare end, you can preview the Reutter Report and sample of the binder).

Model Year Highlights (1953):
Produced between October 1952 and March 1954, the 1953 Porsche 356 featured revised bumpers that continued through the end of the 356A generation. Side-by-side “beehive” taillights replaced the earlier vertical setup, while front signal indicators moved just below the headlights. The new steering wheel included a horn button adorned with the Porsche crest. Mechanically, the 1953 model was notable for introducing the Type 519 gearbox with Porsche’s own synchromesh on all forward gears and upgraded 11-inch aluminum brake drums. That year also saw the debut of the America-series coupe and cabriolet—simplified models developed at the request of legendary U.S. importer Max Hoffman.
