This custom truck features a mix of originality and performance upgrades, making it a unique example with solid mechanicals and vintage character.
Interior:
The custom interior retains all original fabric for the seats, door panels, and headliner. The carpet extends from the firewall back to the tailgate and even covers the rear inner wheel wells. An ARA under-dash A/C unit is present, although the compressor was removed from the engine; it is included with the truck along with other spare parts. The original steering wheel is vinyl-covered with a few cracks in the plastic center section. The dash shows wear, with white paint on the dash and black dash covers, both of which have several cracks. Despite this, the interior chrome remains in good condition, and the factory gauges function properly. The stereo has been upgraded to an early cassette deck with custom speakers.
Exterior:
The truck was repainted in its original green color with a white top. Both bumpers were replaced, and all side molding chrome and insignias remain in good condition. It features a swing-out tailgate-mounted spare tire with a custom cover. All the glass is in good condition. The truck rides on 10-hole mag wheels that are in solid shape, paired with Good Year tires that still have plenty of tread but are over eight years old. The original hubcaps are included among the spare parts. Notably, the rear tires show small cuts in the sidewalls from rubbing on the inner wheel wells.
Engine:
The engine compartment presents nicely detailed with a recently rebuilt 302 cubic-inch V8 that runs strong and healthy. The engine is .030 over and built with forged TRW pistons, headers, an RV cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake, and a 600 carburetor. It is dressed with a chrome air cleaner and Aluminum Ford Motorsports valve covers. On cold start, the engine shows strong oil pressure at 70 PSI.
Transmission:
The C-4 automatic transmission has been upgraded with a shift kit but remains otherwise stock. The truck also features power steering.
Suspension and Chassis:
The chassis was painted many years ago and is now showing peeling in multiple areas, with only surface rust where the paint has flaked off. The truck is fitted with a custom exhaust system featuring manual cutouts that exit in front of the rear wheels. Rancho suspension shocks are fitted all around, along with a Rancho steering dampener. Suspension rubber is starting to crack but remains intact and fully functional.
