By the mid-1920s, Renault had become an established manufacturer of well-designed French automobiles. The company introduced the 6CV line in 1922, starting with the KJ model, followed by the MT, and NN in 1924. The NN proved to be a popular middle-class family car, powered by a four-cylinder 951cc side-valve engine. This NN town car wears an older restoration by Hillcrest Motor Company of Los Angeles, with a maroon colored body accented by black fenders. This example is especially unique, as it was delivered new with a bespoke town car body by renowned Parisian coachbuilder Henri Labourdette. Labourdette bodies were known for their remarkable quality and creative design, and this car is no exception. While the recognizable Renault shovel nose front end remains, the rest of the body features Labourdette coachwork. The driver's compartment is protected by a nickel-framed windscreen, while the passenger compartment is lavishly appointed with cane-work panels, a nickel roof rack, nickel carriage lamps, and a split divider window with two separate opening panes. The passenger compartment is both elegant and comfortable, upholstered in tan fabric. This car is fitted with wire wheels, complementing the opulent Labourdette coachwork. This outstanding Renault NN includes some technical literature and various materials from prior ownership.
