This 1968 280SL was purchased from the previous owner who was 91 at the time of purchase. He used to put it on his calendar to drive the car on the last Sunday of every month (weather permitting). This vehicle was under his care for the last 30 years before landing in our personal collection 2 years ago. Upon purchase of this car, we had a major service and lots of deferred maintenance addressed at a cost of over $15,000. The car now runs and drives beautifully and is ready for a long trip at a moment's notice. The soft top is in excellent shape, and we believe we were the first ones to actually put it up as the previous owner never removed the hardtop. The paint is showing its age but other than that the car is in great shape. While the SL market has slowed down a bit the Pagodas are continuing to appreciate. The front windshield is in excellent condition. The tires are slightly worn with about 75% of tread life left. The engine is functioning properly and has no issues. The transmission shifts very smoothly. The brakes are in great condition. The battery is in excellent condition. The car was previously owned by a non smoker. A full size spare is included with this vehicle. This vehicle comes with a spare key. This vehicle had a few previous owners.
