This is not just a tribute, it's a resurrection. Crafted by Iconic Auto Sports in Argentina, this hand-built aluminum bodied recreation pays homage to the legendary 1952 Alfa Romeo C52 Disco Volante Fianchi Stretti the only original of which resides in the famed Schlumpf Museum in France. Built using traditional coachbuilding techniques, this car mirrors the methods of 80 years ago. Iconic Auto Sports, a boutique manufacturer with three Autoclásica awards (South America's most prestigious concours and ranked among the world's top eight), is known for reviving legendary designs with obsessive craftsmanship and respect for history. The Fianchi Stretti, or narrow hips, was the most refined evolution of the original Disco Volante. Using Carrozzeria Touring's Superleggera space frame technology, the design was a blueprint for mid-century race car aerodynamics and performance. This example blends vintage elegance with modern power, featuring an Alfa Romeo V6 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It's more than just a showpiece it's a driver. Notably, this very car was invited to participate in the 2023 Formula 1 Drivers Parade with the Alfa Romeo team, a nod to its craftsmanship, rarity, and the timeless impact of the original design.
