1994 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible One of the best things to happen to American car fans in the last year has been the arrival of General Motors updated F-bodies, the Chevrolet Camaro and the Pontiac Firebird. Now fans of American pony cars have even more to celebrate, or maybe we should say less, since in this case, less clearly means more. We're talking about the arrival of a second 1994 F-body body style, this Chevrolet Camaro convertible. MotorWeek TV, 1993 For consignment, a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro convertible with a title verified 63,678 actual miles. This garaged example represents an opportunity to own a fun drop top that's now classic. Yes, friends, 1994 was 31 years ago as hard as that is to believe! Exterior Just like the V6 prototype they reviewed on MotorWeek back when it was still on PBS, this car is Polo II Green Metallic, augmented by a tan pinstripe which picks up on interior colors as we'll see. Narrow headlights are in line with the pointed nose and aerodynamic intentions that starts with the front, continues on the smooth hood with streamlined scoops, and over the steeply raked windshield which is especially pronounced with the top down. Once the wind passes the cabin, it's funneled through the wide wing and around the integrated third brake light. The distinctive tail lights give way to a smooth bumper cover and stamped CAMARO on the latch panel. 16-inch wheels carry 235/55R16's with a mid 2024 date code. Oxidized paint on a panel, chin scrapes, and a scratch through the pinstripe are the only imperfections we note on this well preserved Camaro. Interior Tan cloth, plastic, and carpet are used on the door panels and a black insert that holds the hardware adds a handsome touch and both doors present cleanly. Tweed-like material covers the bucket seats up front which are in very nice shape with some slight compression on the driver's side. In back, the 2+2 offer deep seats with low backs and three point seat belts and are clean. A clean design is offered up front, beginning with the black, airbag equipped steering wheel and the uniformly black dashboard with standard gauge cluster and A/C panel over the AM/FM/CD radio to the right, canted slightly towards the driver. A no nonsense shifter lives in the center console along with a requisite, but not very deep cup holder and storage compartment doubling as an armrest. Tan carpet below with matching GM mats completes the cabin and gray panels line the clean trunk. Drivetrain Under the hood is a clean, driver quality 3.4 liter V6 putting out 160 horsepower, fuel injected and mated to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic. Power is routed to the 10 bolt and tempered by the power disc brakes at every wheel. Undercarriage Clean underneath with the typical surface rust and just a film of oil on the pan. A single exhaust flows through a stock style muffler then terminates at a steel tailpipe just before the bumper cover. Suspension is configured as coil springs up front and a torque arm with coil springs in back. Drive-Ability For some of us, this is a step back to high school or college days and there's nothing like a well preserved car to bring back all of those memories. This cloth laden interior is as comfortable as we remember and the V6 provides more than enough power to propel this rear wheel drive F-body around our track. New tires provide good grip and the F-body handles as well as expected. We note the horn is not working and the passenger power side mirror does not go up or down with the switch. Beyond that, all the functions afforded this classic Camaro operate as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Most of these were used to the point of being used up, not this one. It's a clean example of a great time when the Camaro would get a facelift giving it a fresh appearance without compromi
