This purpose built street-and-strip machine is powered by its Muscle Motors prepared Chrysler 440 blocked stroked to 496 cubic inches, said to make in excess of 600hp. The power is transferred via its 727 torqueflite transmission equipped with a High Performance torque converter, manual valve body and controlled by its Turbo Action Cheetah shifter. All of this is applied by the cars Dana 60 rear end with 3.54:1 gear ratio, Strange 35 spline axles and equipped with Calver Racing “Cal-Tracs” traction system. The engine is fed by its dual Edelbrock Performer 4 barrel carbs topping its Vintage Mopar Wedge Cross Ram intake manifold featuring both a mechanical Carter Super Pump and a Magna-Fuel electric fuel pump, JAZ aluminum fuel cell with sender and Aeroequip AN fittings. Other mechanical highlights include: Competition Cam and valve train, Hooker Headers and Torque Technologies 3” Exhaust with Flomaster 40’s.
The car retains all of its original body panels and floors and presents outstanding original. This Polara has an amazing original structure, according to our client, it features most if not all of its original paint. The interior features stock bucket seats, Autometer liquid-filled gauges fitted to a custom panel, a 6-point roll bar with padded removable door bars are rear seat delete.
Other features include Dual Power master cylinder, front and rear frame rails tied for maximum strength, American Racing Mags in front and 15X8 steel wheels rear with BFG DOT approved Drag Radial tires, and completely stock / unmodified body.
This 1964 Dodge Polara was acquired, preserved and built with great thought and intent. It is an incredible build that represents the Super Stock era of American Automotive history.
