65,389 miles
1952 Ford Crestline Victoria Ford's smart and distinctive Crestline models set new standards in style for the industry. The Victoria is available in 6 single tone and 6 two tone body colors, with 3 superbly designed interior trim motifs. All Crestline models are powered by the 110hp high compression Strato-Star V8, and all are available with Fordomatic Drive, 3-speed manual with optional overdrive. From the 1952 sales catalog that features the complete line of Fords including the Mainlines, Crestlines, and Customlines. For consignment, a 1952 Ford Crestline Victoria showing 65,389 miles, but the true miles are unknown. The car was touted as sedan snug and convertible smart with it's one piece curved windshield, absence of a B-pillar, and sweep around rear window. The contrasting color of the roof also hints at convertible aspirations. Exterior Two stage Raven Black is painted wonderfully countered by the cream roof which also picks up nicely on the white wall tires. The exterior is also highly ornamental with trim that includes the leading edge of the rear fender, a bold spear that starts on the front and spikes along the door, the incredible rear window frame that peaks with a crested C-pillar trim piece. The round tail lights have rocket like nacelles and the front is a virtual clinic in decorative features with torpedo like protrusions, a winged Ford crest, a bold grille, and robust chrome bumper. Then there's a jet shaped hood ornament that points you in the right direction and polished wheel covers turn as you get there on 15-inch wheels. Paint, trim, and emblems are in great shape and we could not find any exterior imperfections. Interior Ivory inserts are bordered by dark green vinyl on the door panels and both doors present cleanly and this color pattern flows to the split bench seat which is lined with green piping and configured with large, stitched panels. The back bench and matching side walls also look great and include the requisite ashtrays for passengers. For the driver, an elegant black steering wheel ahead of a rather busy dashboard with a central gauge cluster in a deco like frame surrounded by multiple knobs that are all labeled and an AM radio under a clock sculpted into the dash top. Under the dash is the vent and fan controls along with an added dual gauge for oil pressure and water temp. The open floor is covered with very nice light green carpet and the headliner is also green, nicely stitched, clean, and intact. A simple black cloth mat and spare white wall occupy the clean trunk. Drivetrain The show worthy gold power plant is a 239ci flathead V8 rated at 110 horsepower, fueled by a 2-barrel carburetor, and backed by a 3-speed manual with overdrive. Power is routed to the rear axle with 4.10 gears and drum brakes are found front and rear. Undercarriage Driver quality conditions are noted to include things like surface rust, grime build up in places, oil present on the rear differential, oil sling obvious near the front of the driveshaft, general overall patina, and some residual oil on the pan. That said, no invasive rust is found, and everything is in place and functional. Suspension here includes coil springs up front and leaf springs in the back. The true dual exhaust finds a pair of glasspack style mufflers before exiting out back via chrome tips. Drive-Ability Stately and elegant, the Victoria's interior is a nice place to be to steer this big car. The flathead Ford starts right up and with three on the tree, we glide through the test loop with a smoothness and comfort that was close to the pinnacle for Ford in 1952. The engine runs well, the car tracks straight, visibility is excellent, and with the exception of the radio, clock, and heater blower, all functions on board operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your
