Seller's Notes

• This vehicle is located at our Indianapolis facility - 2461 Reeves Rd #194, Plainfield, IN 46168 •

This 1963 Buick Riviera is a beautifully preserved example of one of the most iconic personal luxury cars of the 1960s. Dressed in a striking Teal Mist exterior over a sharp black interior, it captures the bold elegance that defined Buick’s design language of the era. Power comes from a freshly rebuilt 401 cubic inch “Nailhead” V8 engine, paired with a smooth automatic transmission and a 3.25 rear end, delivering effortless cruising power with plenty of torque. The car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, a heater, and factory air conditioning, making it both stylish and comfortable for modern driving. Meticulously maintained by its previous owners and with less than 1,000 miles on the rebuilt engine, this Riviera is in great shape and ready to be enjoyed.

The 1963 Buick Riviera marked the debut of the Riviera nameplate and set a new standard for American automotive design. Originally envisioned as a competitor to the Ford Thunderbird, the Riviera quickly earned a reputation for its clean, European-inspired lines, hidden headlights (introduced later in the model run), and upscale performance. The first-year model, like this one, was powered by Buick’s legendary Nailhead V8 and built on a unique chassis that emphasized handling and ride quality. Designed under the direction of GM’s Bill Mitchell, the Riviera was praised for its restrained elegance and has since become a benchmark in classic car design. Today, the 1963 Riviera is considered a milestone car — a fusion of performance, luxury, and timeless style that helped redefine what an American grand touring car could be.
