40,827 miles
1968 Chevrolet Camaro Hardtop Lean, clean, long, low, with the power and performance to match its sporty looks. Last year, this car demonstrated emphatically its sales appeal. This year, Camaro comes on even stronger with sensible styling refinements inside and out. It's your ticket to even bigger conquest sales in the economy sports car market. Ex-sell-erate in '68 with Camaro! From the 1968 Chevrolet Dealer Training film.  For consignment, a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro hardtop showing 40,827 mile, but the true miles are unknown. This is a fantastic build with miles deep paint, a 396ci V8 with aluminum heads, and a set of 17-inch Ion wheels. If it follows the trend of previous nice '68's at the mall, and it will, it likely won't be here long enough to collect dust.   Exterior The spectacular exterior begins with two stage Tuxedo Black paint that reflects deeply and is free of mars or swirls while a pair of pewter stripes begin at the nose, onto the cowl hood, skipping the roof but returning on the trunk lid, up and over the spoiler. Chrome bumpers hug the ends of the car and wrap around, almost touching the side markers which were new for '68. In back, two lens tail lights split the red and reverse light and each is framed in a polished bezel. 17-inch Ion wheels pull the colors together with thin strips of black on polished spokes and each is wrapped in 225/50R17 tires. The metalwork, emblems, trim, and paint is excellent and we could find no exterior imperfections. Interior The show stopping beauty continues on the inside where leather and suede custom door panels in alternating gray and a tan accent stripe cleanly dress the doors and are adorned with billet like custom handles. The custom upholstery on the bucket seats matches the doors with suede inserts and embroidered Camaro on the seat backs and the pattern of gray on gray with tan piping is mirrored in the back seat, all in amazing condition and the rear side walls simply a continuation of the door material configuration. A leather wrapped steering wheel fronts the stock instrument cluster where vents and metal knobs surround the two coves that are front and center. To the right, vent levers reside in a panel over the retro stereo, now AM/FM with CD player. Then the sport gauge package we've come to love, four square gauges canted upward for easy viewing in front of the horseshoe shifter on a gray floor column with cradle for seatbelts. Low pile gray carpet covers the floor, topped by Camaro branded rubber mats and the trunk is a work of art, with leather covering the boxes for the CD changer and storage. Drivetrain The show must go on, and so it does with a spotless and chrome filled 396ci V8 with Winters Foundry L89 aluminum heads and intake under a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. An upgraded aluminum radiator keeps it cool and a TH400 3-speed automatic sets it in motion, transferring power to the 10 bolt rear with 3.23 gears and Positraction. To temper all this fun, power disc brakes are supplied to all four wheels. Undercarriage With a topside so spectacular, surely the underside will be clean too, right? Fact check, true! It is indeed amazingly clean underneath where Hedman headers send dual exhaust through FlowMaster mufflers, painted black, then the pipes arch over the rear axle and its polished differential cover, finally terminating modestly before the valence. Suspension consists of coil springs up front and leaf springs in the back. The undercarriage is rust free, but we do note some oil on the pan and some of it has drifted rearward. Drive-Ability We know it's got show, but does it have go? Yes, indeed, the 396 delivers in spades and the car does everything well and sounds darn good doing it. Power steering and power brakes improve the driving experience, and the car has plenty of power on hand and our colleagues tell us the wheels look fantastic when they're spinning. We find all items working on this well sorted Camaro, and we
