1969 Chevrolet Cheyenne 10 Short Bed Pickup The Cheyenne nameplate disappeared years back, but Chevy used the name on a few concepts in the not too distant past. The trim level name was dedicated to the C/K truck, before adding it to the K5 Blazer lineup. Chevrolet used the name as a trim level that included interior and exterior upgrades. It sat under the Silverado trim level as well, before Chevrolet adopted the Silverado name for all of its full size pickup trucks. Tfltruck.com For consignment, a 1969 Chevrolet Cheyenne 10 short bed pickup truck with a title verified 98,467 actual miles. The name Cheyenne is derived from the Lakota term for speaking a different language. Well, this '69 silver Cheyenne definitely speaks our language, one in which classic trucks are the basis for thought and feeling! Exterior First let's talk stance because this truck has a good one! It sits squarely over the 15-inch Ultra wheels, each carrying a 275/60R15 tire, letters out and looking great. From there, the two stage Silver Metallic grabs your attention like a fresh can of Coors, and the bed rails give the profile a slightly edgier look than your average pickup. Out back, it's classic Americana with red letters flanked by simple red tail lights and reverse lights that blend with the paint over a chrome bumper that is the perfect underscore. The rise to the hood provides the front with some beefiness behind a perfectly designed grille and headlights. Oh sure, that's subjective but you can't argue with objectively handsome lines. 454 in red is affixed to the hood bulge and side mirrors extend on thin shiny stalks. The bed is clean, has a few expected dings, but is painted and nice. We could not find any imperfections on this silver star. Interior Red plastic door cards are nicely contrasted by the body colored inner doors and lead to a bench that shares those colors with silver pleated inserts in a red frame with silver piping and it's all in great condition. A wooden Grant steering wheel adds a custom touch in front of the standard simple instrument cluster that gives way to a silver painted dash to the right under a red dash pad. See a theme here? On board, we have an AM/FM/CD radio and a Sunpro triple gauge pod for the engine essentials. Since the shifter is on the column, the floor is open and treated with a plush red carpet with red accented Chevy rubber mats on top. The bare but painted ceiling is met by the red visors and a dome light lives above the solid rear window. Drivetrain Under the hood, a show quality bay features a 454ci V8 with a 4-barrel Holley carburetor on an Edelbrock intake manifold. Finned valve covers and a chromed fan shroud and air filter element really dress things up and headers are onboard to take the fumes south. The engine is mated to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the 12 bolt axle ,while power brakes are employed to slow this silver bullet, discs in front and drums in the rear. Undercarriage Some surface rust is noted along with some residual oil on the pans but in general the underside is in good shape. Dual exhaust runs from the headers through FlowMaster mufflers and then heads east and west to exit behind the rear wheels. Suspension includes coil springs up front and a swing arm with coil springs in back. Drive-Ability In we go and turn the key after a prime of the carb and the big 454 lights up with all the gusto and exhaust note you'd expect. The truck proves to be surefooted and handles well, and there's power on tap. Would we like another gear or two? Sure, but we're not complaining about the torque here as this classic Chevy delivers a fun ride. The icing on the cake is all functional items on board operate as intended and we cruise this pickup back to the mall. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
