The MGB is a two-door sports car manufactured and marketed from 1962 until 1980 by the British Motor Corporation later the Austin-Morris division of British Leyland, as a four-cylinder, soft-top sports car. It was announced and its details first published on 19 September 1962. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph impact with an immovable barrier (200 ton).
The roadster was the first of the MGB range to be produced. The body was a pure two-seater; a small rear seat was a rare option at one point. By making better use of space the MGB was able to offer more passenger and luggage accommodation than the earlier MGA while being 3 in shorter overall. The suspension was also softer, giving a smoother ride, and the larger engine gave a slightly higher top speed.
This MGB sports a gleaming exterior that highlights its timeless lines, enhanced by a set of chrome wire wheels that add both elegance and period-correct flair. The bodywork appears well-finished, suggesting a careful and thorough restoration. A full tonneau cover is included, offering both practicality and a vintage touch, ideal for protecting the interior when the car is parked or for covering the passenger side while driving solo.
Inside, the car retains its factory original black leather seats piped in contrasting red, providing a striking visual accent that complements the car’s sporty character.
In terms of upgrades, a modern AM/FM/CD stereo system with dual speakers has been tastefully integrated, allowing for enjoyable driving tunes without compromising the car’s classic ambiance.
Mechanically, the car drives very well, with responsive handling and good power from its spirited inline-four engine. The transmission shifts smoothly with a fully synchronized transmission and the overall ride quality is solid—what you'd expect from a well-sorted MGB.
This 1968 MGB Roadster is an excellent example of a classic British convertible that offers vintage style with a few modern comforts, making it ideal for weekend cruising or spirited drives on winding roads.
