It is a rare occurrence when we come across a car we haven't seen much of, if at all, around here. However, this 1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria Wagon is as unique a find as the memories it evokes from days gone by. Fully repainted in its original Oxford White, this American classic is one of just 6,419 made for the 1990 model year (compared to the more than 68,000 LTD sedans made), and you're going to be hard-pressed to find another one as pristine as this. Inside, we find a generously capacious original stock tan cloth interior. Dual cupholders separate the power driver's and passenger seat, while a power-assisted steering wheel comes complete with thumb-operated cruise control. An 85 mph speedometer sits front and center of the driver, while sliding HVAC controls are mounted mid-dash, complete with functional air conditioning. An AM/FM stereo handles entertainment, while arguably more entertaining are the video-game-like toggle switches that control the power windows, locks, and mirrors, mounted on the door panels. Find your way all the way to the back of this grand wagon and you'll find side-facing jump seats, allowing up to eight people to come along for the ride. Opt to fold down those seats, and you'll unlock up to 90 cubic feet of cargo space, which rivals that of many modern full-sized SUVs. Under that expansive hood, we find a 302 cubic-inch V-8 engine that produced approximately 150 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque when new. An H-pipe dual exhaust, complete with aftermarket mufflers, reminds anyone within earshot that a 5.0-liter V-8 sounds good, regardless of how many people it needs to carry. Those ponies are routed through an AOD four-speed automatic transmission before being sent out to a live axle rear end, which transfers power to the pavement via fifteen-inch wire-spoke wheels shod in 215/70R-15 Cooper tires.
