A corporate cousin to Plymouth's Road Runner, Dodge's Super Bee similarly offered plenty of no-frills performance for a bargain price by way of a powerful 383 "Magnum" 4-barrel V8 (which borrowed some performance parts, such as the heads, from the mighty 440 V8) hooked up to a standard 4-speed stick. A "heavy-duty" suspension and cool graphics featuring a tire-spinning bee on the rear flanks rounded out Dodge's midsized muscle car.
Here we have one of the most original and pristine muscle cars we've ever seen. The previous owner of this car searched for over 20 years in his quest to find the finest original example of a 1968 Super Bee possible. As such, this car is stunning and must be seen and driven.
Look up close and you'll see an amazing all-original body wearing its nearly all-original paint (apart from the driver's door and small area on the left quarter panel behind the tail stripe). The doors shut with a satisfying click and even the original weather stripping is supple and in great shape. The Red (code PP1) paint gleams as does the various chrome and stainless-steel trim. A set of chrome Magnum 500-style wheels waring Coker redline tires add the perfect punctuation mark to this Super Bee's massive curb appeal. Underneath, it's the same story with an impressively clean underside.
Inside it's all business with the comfy bench seat and 4-speed stick sprouting out of the floor. The dash boasts full instrumentation (including a "Tic Toc Tach") while a woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel and matching shift knob add some sporty style.
Under the power-bulge hood sits the original 383 Magnum that looks factory fresh. It sends its considerable power to the original 4-speed manual transmission and on to the rear tires via the original 3.23-geared Sure-Grip rear end. Power steering and manual brakes round out the specs.
Out on the road, this dynamite Dodge runs every bit as good as it looks! And it sounds great while doing so with its proper muscle car soundtrack playing out of the chrome dual exhaust tips.
