The car was repainted white during the refurbishment, and chrome components were either re-plated or replaced. The convertible frame was rebuilt and fitted with a replacement black top. A hardtop will also be included in the sale. American Racing 17″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with General G-Max tires. Front and rear sway bars have been installed. The power brakes incorporate front discs and rear drums, and the brake fluid was changed in preparation for the sale. The refreshed cockpit houses a bench seat trimmed in black leather, which is complemented by a color-coordinated dash pad and two-tone door panels. A Classic Auto Air climate control system has been installed, and the car also has a floor-mounted shifter and power windows. The radio does not work. A banjo-style steering wheel sits ahead of an engine-turned cluster and dashboard trim. A 140-mph speedometer is flanked by an AutoMeter tachometer, an inoperative clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles. The Ford Performance 302ci V8 crate engine was installed during the 2004 refurbishment and has been equipped with the following components: Hydraulic roller camshaft GT40-style cylinder heads Edelbrock intake manifold Dual Edelbrock carburetors MSD ignition Zoops serpentine system In preparation for the sale, the right-side Sanderson header was replaced along with the battery, serpentine belt, and a fuel hose. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a replacement Ford AOD four-speed automatic transmission that is fitted with a Compushift controller. The rear end is equipped with a 3.89: gear set, and the shift linkage was modified to work with the Thunderbird shifter. A copy of the invoice shows that the car was sold to Bacon and Sons Ford in Hermosa Beach, California, and lists a total price of $3,295.
